Easter in Kościelisko or in Zakopane - which to choose?
Easter in Kościelisko or in Zakopane – which to choose?
Every year in January and February I receive the same question from future Guests:
“Is it better to come to Zakopane for Easter, or to choose Kościelisko?”
I understand that perfectly.
Both towns are close to each other, both are in the Tatra Mountains, but the holiday atmosphere can be completely different.
Allow me to tell you about it from my perspective.
Crowds or quiet?
There is no denying – Zakopane is alive with activity during the holidays.
There are people who love it:
a walk along Krupówki,
open restaurants,
festive bustle,
the city's energy.
But there are also Guests who feel tired after a few hours.
Easter is, after all, a time for quiet.
That is why many Guests consciously choose Kościelisko.
Morning looks different here. Instead of the city's din there is:
a view of the mountains,
quiet,
the scent of fresh air,
a peaceful, unhurried coffee.
And very often I hear:
“This is exactly what we needed.”
A large hotel or an intimate villa?
Zakopane offers many large hotels. Pools, SPA zones, packages for hundreds of people. It's a great solution for those who like a resort atmosphere.
But the holidays in such a place can be… anonymous.
In Kościelisko smaller, more personal places dominate. Places where the host knows their Guests, where at the holiday breakfast there are no queues at the buffet, and the atmosphere feels more like a home than a hotel.
In our villa I have always wanted the Guest to feel cared for, not “served”.
At Willa Izydor the number of places is limited. Thanks to that the holidays are peaceful, and a true, warm atmosphere reigns at the Easter table.
City center or mountain view?
That's one of the biggest differences.
In the center of Zakopane everything is close – shops, restaurants, attractions. But often other buildings are visible outside the window.
In Kościelisko the Tatras are outside the window.
From many places you can see the majestic Giewont, and in spring the contrast of the green valley and the snow-covered peaks can truly move you.
On holiday afternoons many Guests choose a walk to the Dolina Kościeliska
or to the Dolina Chochołowska.
These are not long trips. They are calm, family outings after which you return for dinner with rosy cheeks.
What kind of Easter do you want to experience?
If you care about:
restaurants and city bustle – choose Zakopane.
quiet, space and genuine rest – choose Kościelisko.
More and more I see that Guests come to us precisely because they don't want the holidays “in a crowd”. They want real holidays.
Ones where:
breakfast lasts a long time,
conversations are not interrupted by noise,
and outside the window you can see mountains, not a parking lot.
Why do many Guests return to Kościelisko?
Because after the first stay they discover that holidays in the mountains can be peaceful.
That you can:
combine tradition with nature,
really rest,
feel the atmosphere of Podhale without commercial noise.
And I often hear at departure:
“We'll come back here next year.”
Best regards
