Not everything important for Guests at home happens during breakfast.
Sometimes the most fondly remembered things are those we didn’t plan as "attractions".
A jar of homemade preserves.
Something to try while talking.
"Please try, we make it ourselves."
And it immediately feels like home.
My Guests often ask about the preserves
What kind of pickles these are.
How the jam is made.
If the pâté is mine.
And I laugh, because sometimes a conversation about one jar lasts longer than dinner.
Such little things build memories
Not a catalog.
Not an offer.
Just little things.
And I guess that is exactly what Guests remember.
