May in Kościelisko. The day Guests did not go to Zakopane

Yesterday morning a lady came down for breakfast and said to me:

"We were supposed to go to Zakopane today... but we don't really feel like it."

I smiled, because I hear this every spring.

In Kościelisko something happens that suddenly you don't want to go any further.

A morning that changes the day's plan

It was quiet.

Really quiet.

Only cups, coffee, and a view of the mountains. Still some snow higher up, fresh green below.

They said:
"We'll sit for a while and decide."

And they stayed.

Until noon.

Without a plan.

Zakopane was on the plan

Because it usually is.

Zakopane tempts with:

• restaurants
• shops
• "to see something"

And I understand that.

But very often I see the moment when Guests realize that... they don't have to.

What did they do instead?

They went for a walk.

Not to any "top 10 attractions".

Just straight ahead.

Later they told me it was the best day of the entire trip.

As the owner, I see one thing

People come to the mountains with a plan.

And they leave with something completely different.

With silence.

With breath.

With a kind of peace that cannot be planned.

Why Kościelisko wins in May

Not because it has more attractions.

Just because it doesn't impose anything.

At Willa Izydor I see it every day:

Guests slow down.

And suddenly it turns out that this is what they needed the most.

If you have a plan for the May holiday

Make it.

But leave some space in it.

For no plan.

Because it may turn out that the best thing to happen in the mountains...
is something that wasn't on the list.
