How the "chain" works in Kościelisko – or when Guests come by recommendation
Sometimes I ask Guests during breakfast:
"How did you find us?"
And very rarely do I hear:
"From an advertisement."
Most often I hear something else:
"Friends have been here and recommended it."
Or:
"Someone told us that it's good here."
And then I know that our little chain is working.
One family, then another
It usually starts the same way.
One family arrives.
They spend a few days in Kościelisko.
They return home and tell their friends:
"Go there. It's really worth it."
And soon new Guests arrive.
Often I hear upon arrival:
"We are the ones who were here last year."
And this is something really special for me.
Kościelisko is chosen differently than Zakopane
Zakopane is often chosen from a list.
Hotel, standard, photos, reviews.
And Kościelisko is very often chosen by recommendation.
Because someone said:
"It's peaceful there. We felt good there."
As an owner, I see when it works
The chain of recommendations works only when Guests really feel good.
Not "okay."
Not "ok."
Only really good.
Because nobody recommends a place that was average.
This is not advertising
We don't have big campaigns.
We don't shout, we don't force people.
What we have are Guests.
And their words.
And sometimes you can see it at one table
Sometimes at breakfast there are people who don't know each other... yet they are here thanks to each other.
Because someone told someone.
Because someone recommended someone.
And suddenly it turns out that this chain really exists.
Why this is important to me
Because it means that what Janusz and I do makes sense.
That this everyday life:
- cooking
- conversations
- taking care of Guests
- our pace
is noticed.
And maybe that's why it works
Because this is not a place "made for the Guest."
This is a place that lives.
And Guests feel it.
If someone comes to Kościelisko by recommendation... very often they later recommend it themselves.
And so our little chain grows.
A bit quietly.
